Introduction and Itinerary

This is a blog about our bike trip in Norway by Alan and Susan Gordon.

Last year we went back East for a bicycling adventure and rode from Washington DC to Cumberland, MD along the C&O Canal. The trip was all organized by Road Scholar, who provided for everything except our pedaling. We had a great time. So this year we thought we would up our game and try another biking adventure. This time we chose the Lofoten Islands of Norway.

The Itinerary:
  • Leave on Thursday and arrive in Oslo on Friday
  • Saturday fly North to Harstad to meet our group (8 other adventurers and 2 guides)
  • Sunday is day 1 of  6 days of biking. Approximately 351 Km (218 miles)
  • Saturday we rest up in Reine with some hiking and sight seeing
  • Sunday back to Oslo for touring around
  • Monday thru Wednesday rest up in Iceland and take in the spa
  • Thursday return :-(
  • Tour Organization: Freewheeling. Once again all we need to provide is the pedaling.
  • Google Map of Islands
